The SONO Chest celebrates the natural color variations of various wood species, inviting you to appreciate the unique beauty of each type. As part of Hiromatsu Furniture's distinctive SONO series, this piece embodies the artisans' dedication to creating furniture with a "strong presence"—furniture that truly stands out. Despite the vibrant array of colors, the chest retains a natural appearance, with each wood's hue preserved and enhanced through a natural oil finish. The main body is crafted from solid maple, with drawer fronts made from maple, cherry, wenge, teak, walnut, and padauk, arranged from top to bottom to display each wood’s natural color. This diverse palette allows the chest to blend seamlessly with any flooring.

Not only is the uniqueness of its appearance fascinating, but the delicate slits between the front panels and the alignment of the small aluminum knobs show the careful work of the craftsmen who made it. On the left is a drawer storage cabinet, and on the right is a cabinet with a swinging door. The left side appears to be a row of shallow drawers, but in fact there are drawers of various sizes hidden inside. Movable shelves are included inside the opening door. From small to tall items, you can organize and store them in a practical way.

Hiromatsu Furniture uses a variety of wood species, each with its own unique color, and when combined, these colors create a vibrancy that a single wood type cannot achieve. Upon delivery, the colors of each wood stand out distinctly, but over time, they mellow and harmonize with each other. This series is designed to be enjoyed over many years, allowing you to appreciate the gradual, natural transformation of each wood as it ages gracefully.
