In order to achieve an antique look, the wood is destressed, leaving scratches, dents, and insect holes.
In addition, a process called "Uzukuri processing" is used to bring out the wood grain, bringing out its woody flavor.
It features a warm, rustic feel that makes use of the grain of the pine wood.
